CE 489: Licensure and Certification in Civil Engineering

At Christian Brothers University, CE 489 (Licensure and Certification in Civil Engineering) is a zero-credit-hour senior-level engineering course. It is pass/fail course required for civil engineering majors. This course is meant to help prepare students to take and pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam for the Civil Engineering discipline. This course also requires students to enroll and pass the OSHA-10 Construction safety course.

Course Objectives

Attainment of Course Objectives are measured by the assessment mechanisms of: Earning an OSHA certification and passing the FE-style Final Exam (or actual FE Exam). At the conclusion of this course the student will be able to:

A. Earn an OSHA certification

B. Pass either the FE-style Final Exam or the actual FE Exam
